The objective of World Oral Health Day is to empower individuals with the knowledge, tools, and self-assurance they need to maintain healthy teeth. This day is a project of FDI World Dental Federation, which unifies the world of dentistry with the goal of providing optimal oral health to everyone.

Why Is Oral Health Day Important?

Oral diseases are an important health issue in many countries, affecting people throughout their lives. Oral illnesses produce discomfort and agony, as well as social isolation and loss of self-esteem. They frequently go hand in hand with other serious health issues, yet there is no need to endure: most oral health problems are largely preventable and cay be treated early.

Children have a 43% greater chance of tooth decay in their primary teeth than adults, according to the CDC. Tooth decay can cause pain, infection, tooth loss, and missed school days in more than 530 million children throughout the world. According to the World Health Organization approximately 3.5 billion people have oral diseases.
